We have worked with Swiss Water Decaf since 2001 when we were their first distributor in Europe, and are proud to be their exclusive partners in the UK. Located in Canada, the ‘Swiss’ part comes from the invention of the process in the 1930s in Schaffhausen, Switzerland using pure water to gently remove caffeine.
Swiss Water® Process was designed as an alternative to using Methylene Chloride as a decaffeination solvent. They are fully committed to quality coffee, and are committed to never using chemicals to remove caffeine. Proudly keeping Methylene Chloride and Ethyl Acetate out of the facility and away from your coffee.
Their 100% chemical free process decaffeinates coffee in small batches. This means they can remove caffeine from very select amounts of Specialty Coffee. Coffee that is grown and harvested with the utmost care. Coffee that we’re excited to taste.
They take sustainability seriously too. In their words “Certifications help ensure sustainable farming practices are maintained, fair wages are supported, and transparency in the supply chain is achieved. In short, they’re good for coffee. And we’re all about standing behind anything that’s good for our favourite beverage. That’s why Swiss Water® Process maintains key coffee certifications as an important part of our sustainability efforts.”
Swiss Water offer education guides for roasting and learning more about the Swiss Water® small batch, caffeine-removal process. This includes POS support and more for getting the message out to your customer, either café, drinker, or both! Find out more by following the link. https://www.swisswater.com/education-support/
Traceability is a large part of how Swiss Water do business too, and each sack comes with a batch code to allow that to happen which you can enter on the system and see exactly what went in to the lot. Follow the link to be taken directly to their webpage (requires you to have an account already) where you can enter the code for your coffee.
