For six generations, the Aguilar family has produced some of the finest coffee in El Salvador. Ama Café’s signature line of coffee, is grown high in the shade-rich slopes of Santa Maria and Las Mercedes Coffee Estates nestled on the San Salvador Volcano. The estates covers over 151 hectares at altitudes ranging from 1,250 to 1,700 meters. The estate was one of the first to provide many services that are now considered basic and the Aguilar family provides housing, education, and health care to the 20 families who live and work on the estate. A portion of all proceeds go towards a non-profit association, Amigos del Volcán, created to improve the standard of living for the communities that live in the San Salvador Volcano.
