Citrus, Lavender, Choc.
La Estrella comes from 126 different producers from the department of Nueva Segovia, situated 225 km from Nicaragua’s capital, Managua. Coffee comes from producers in different municipalities such as Macuelizo, Dipilito, San Fernando, Mozonte y Jalapa.
This is a region very close to the border with Honduras and is part of the Cordillera de Dipilito Nature Reserve, a place with a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna. The name La Estrella comes from the Beneficio La Estrella, a coffee mill founded in 2013 in the municipality of Ocotal.
Coffee is fully washed, so pulped and fermented between 18-30 hours on the farm. It is then delivered to the mill, and died on raised beds.
