El Salvador Cerro Las Ranas

Cupping notes

Tangerine, apricot, dates, choc.

Description

The San Francisco farm the selection Las Ranas comes from is part of a national forest reserve which, at it’s highest point, has a lagoon that is home to thousands of frogs.

At certain times of the year they are to be found across the farm. So ubiquitous are these that the symbol for the Jasal group has become a frog, and they named this coffee after them.

‘Ranas’ translates to English as frog, whilst ‘Cerro’ means mountain or hill.

Pulp Natural differs from honey as a process for Jasal as water is used to transport the cherries from pulping to drying. This slightly affects the flavour, so is reflected in the name.
