Micro-Beneficio La Chumeca is a family company dedicated to the production of specialty coffee, managed by Martín Ureña. Mr. Ureña belongs to the fourth generation that has worked in the coffee industry.

La Chumeca was created in 2014 and their ideology is to produce and process coffee with highest quality standard and ecofriendly with the environment. They are located in San Pablo de León Cortés, part of the Tarrazú zone from Costa Rica.

La Chumeca drying bedsIt’s been 4 years since they started making fermentation process like Anaerobics, 777, “El Capulinero” and the aerobic where each one present differences in the bean’s density, taste, body, fragrance etc. To carry out these processes, it’s necessary to measure daily the temperature, the brix degrees of the fruit, the brix degrees of the coffee juice generated in the anaerobic fermentation process and the pH.

They use the sun drying method to dry all the coffees.

Micro-Beneficio La Chumeca cultivates several varieties of coffee as catuaí rojo, catuaí amarillo, H-17, Costa Rica 95, Caturra-Catuaí, Gesha enano and H-3.
