Colombia CGLE Las Margaritas Geisha

Cupping notes

Tropical fruit, pineapple and peach on the nose followed by sugar, red fruit and rum in the cup. Jasmine, buttery and silky body and lingering cocoa mouthfeel.

Description

Cafe Granja La Esperanza (CGLE) introduced Geisha to Colombia first at Cerro Azul, before bringing it to the lush Las Margaritas.

Both bronze and green tip grow on the farm, each as favoured as the other.

Fermentation time for this coffee ranges between 19 and 22 hours in wholes cherries and then the skin is taken out to start the second fermentation step in parchment and mucilage and last for 35 hours. Beans are then mechanically dried until moisture hits 10.5%
