Chocolate, pear, pineapple and blueberry
This coffee forms part of our 121 project offering, and is a 4 bag lot.
Las Vueltas is the name of the farm where Luis Alberto Cuetoto lives with his wife Mariela Camayo and their 3 children within the San Lorenzo Caldono reserve. The farm covers 3 hectares and coffee is the main produce grown, though there are some shade trees and intercrops of fruit trees including guama (also known as Inga) and banana.
The family are active members of Cencoic and have been since 2011, where they have a reputation for growing quality coffee. As part of Cencoic, project 121’s producers’ synergy has allowed them to train in the production of quality coffee and what is reflected that today through high quality, whilst maintaining the safety net of community and colleagues.
Cherries are pricked with the help of family, friends and neighbours, which is common amongst smallholders. The red cherries are given a quick clean and then pulped, before undergoing a 15 hour wet fermentation in a cement tank and two further washings when complete. Cleaned beans in parchment are then taken to a set of raised beds inside a parabolic drying facility.
Once dried down to 11%, the beans are taken to Cencoic dry mill faciltiy in Popoyan for tasting, grading and preparing for export.
